The central active agent

Scientists have long discussed what the central active agent of the Aloe Vera is. The ancient Maya have simply called it “the guardian of health”. Today it is clear that a substance called “acemannan” is most surely the one active agent looked for. It is a long chain sugar molecule belonging to the group of mupolysaccharoids.

Until puberty begins acemannan is produced by the human body itself. Afterwards it must be in taken with nourishment. This substance is also known to be in Ginseng, Eleutherokokkus, Astralagus (Chinese weed), Shiitake – mushrooms or in shark cartilage.
Acemannan supports the natural bodily defence system by activating the antibodies and phagocytes of the immune system. It also aids in discharging alien-proteins which often lead to allergies.

Acemannan is able to act as a bridge between alien – proteins and the phagocytes of the body. These are therefore enabled to discharge or immobilize the bodily alien component. This function is a central part of strengthening the immune system.

By this means Acemannan helps the cell cope with invaders, empowers the self defence mechanism of the cell membrane and stabilises the immune system.

Latest field of scientific research is to see if Acemannan is able to help the cells cope with cancerous attack.
